Manage your shop settings

The Settings section of E-commerce lets you manage all the settings needed for your shop to run smoothly.

The Settings section consists of:

Set up store details

In this section you can add the most relevant information about your business, including your address and contact. Please note that your store country is necessary when calculating your products' taxes, and to enable automatic notifications.

It is possible to find the Store Details under the Settings option on the left side menu of E-commerce.

Fill in the blank fields with your store details as shown. This information will also appear on the email notifications sent out to your customers. You can always go back and edit your details.

Set up payments

In Payments you can define which payment gateways or services your shop will support. It is possible to find Payments under the Settings options on the left side menu of E-commerce.

3.png

You can enable multiple payment options for your customers. If you wish to accept credit card payments, toggle one of the payment gateways on the list. Please note that you're only able to successfully set up online credit card payments if you have already registered an account with your selected payment gateway.

Additionally, you can take payments through other means, for example Pay on Delivery or Bank Transfer. Use the Manual option for any other payment method not covered by the default options.

Manage your currencies

It is possible to support different currencies on your shop. You can find the Currencies option under Settings on the left side menu of E-commerce.

To activate new currencies for your shop, click on the ones you want to add under the Accepted currencies section. The currencies you select at this point, will be available to choose from in the Primary currency section.

4.png

You can also select the different currencies for each of the different languages your shop supports. At this stage you should choose which currency to associate with each language, by choosing it from the dropdown menu. The dropdown menu will only display the currencies selected in the section above.

 Currency and language

Currently, it is only possible to associate one currency to each language. However, you can offer different currencies depending on the different languages your site supports. This means that you can have as many currencies as you have languages; your site visitors will be able to purchase in the currency from the language where they are visiting, e.g. if they are in the shop under the English language, they will be able to purchase in USD but if they are in the shop under the French language, they will be able to purchase in EUR. You can always go back and add or deselect currencies.

Handle your shipping providers

This section refers to the shipping companies you may use when selling your products. You can find the Shipping Providers under Settings of the left side menu of E-commerce. In this section you will find the different providers you can choose to activate.

5.png

To activate a Shipping Provider, simply toggle on in the right side of each option. You can activate as many Shipping Providers as you want - choose specific companies or choose the Generic option in case the company you wish to use is not on the list or you want to be responsible for your own deliveries. The ones you activate will be possible for you to choose when creating a Shipping Method.

 Please note!

Your shop's shipping will only be up and running once you have defined your Shipping Providers and Shipping Methods. Make sure that the rest of the shop set up is properly completed before activating a Shipping Provider.

Set up your shipping methods

The Shipping Methods section allows you to create different methods of shipping, which can be differentiated in price, weight and even shipping countries. It is possible to find the Shipping Methods under the Settings option on the left side menu of E-commerce.

7.png

When adding a shipping method, the first thing you need to do is create a name for it. You can write the shipping provider or if the method is unique in some way (e.g. DHL Express). If you do not use a specific provider, you can name the field like 'Shipping' or 'Next day delivery'. The next thing you need to do is type in the price, tier target and minimum weight. You can add as many rows as you like, and if you have more than one currency, remember to type in for these as well. You can define the shipping method for every language your shop supports.

Define your new shipping method as following:

 Shipping price on tier target

Depending on the amount of products purchased, you might want to add discounted shipping costs or even no shipping costs at all. The tier target stands for the minimum cost of products in the cart to be charged that specific price of shipping. For example, in the image below you can see that the standard shipping price is 40DKK but when the customer purchases more that 200DKK worth of goods, the shipping will be free.

Define your terms and conditions

For both the seller and client legal protection, it is possible to add your own Terms & Conditions for your shop in the Editor. You can find the Terms & Conditions under the Settings option on the left side menu of E-commerce. When making a purchase, your clients will be asked to accept these terms before proceeding to the payment of the order.

11.png

In this section, you have three different fields to fill out: Refund Policy, Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Paste your respective terms on each field, and if you have more than one language on your site, you can customize your Terms & Conditions to each of them.

 Please note!

It is mandatory that you fill in both a Refund policy, Privacy policy and Terms of service. If you haven't filled in anything, your shop checkout will not be functional.

Manage your tax settings

In Tax Settings you can define whether you wish the prices of your shop to be displayed with or without tax as well as manage different tax types. It is possible to find Tax Settings under the Settings options on the left side menu of E-commerce. The shop automatically calculates the correct taxes based on the location of your store, which is set in Store details, and the product type.

Define tax behaviour

In case you wish to include tax in product prices, simply check the square before the option and click on the Save button.

When this option is enabled, the prices will always be shown with tax on the catalog, product page and cart. At the checkout flow, the price will be equally shown with tax and a separate line should show the amount of tax paid on that product or purchase. When the option is disabled, the prices will always be shown without tax on the catalog, product page and cart. Only at the second phase of the checkout flow, in the Payment phase, will the product or purchase be shown with tax.

Tax types

Set tax rates for different types of goods and add new rates for goods that have either reduced or increased tax rates. You can define different Tax Types to the different languages your website supports – remember that each language is associated with a primary currency.

By default you will see three different tax types. To edit them, simply click on top of the Tax Type you wish to modify and the field will expand with the different settings. To create a new tax type, simply press the Create Tax Type button – you can add as many tax types as you wish!

Screenshot_2021-01-07_at_10.41.46.png

The Editor calculates the tax rates automatically as long as you define the kind of product you are selling. All you must do is define the type – physical goods, digital goods or events – when creating your products in the Editor. However, it is possible to manually insert a specific rate for tax calculation. If you want to manually add a tax rate, simply check the Use custom tax rate option. It is also possible to skip tax calculation for that tax type all together. If you want certain product's price to not include tax, just enable the Skip tax calculation option.

Set up notifications

For your convenience, the Editor allows you to automatically contact your customers through pre-designed emails that are sent out on specific occasions, for example when they place an order or once the order is shipped. It is possible to find the Notifications under Settings on the left side menu of E-commerce.

In these fields you can add the email from which you wish the emails to be sent out. You can also add a logo for the emails, which will automatically be placed in all of the emails.

13.png

There are four different email setups. Please remember that if you have your website in more than one language, you need to set up the email templates for each language. An email will be sent out every time an order is confirmed, completed, credited and cancelled. You can read more about order statuses here.

14.png

What if your notifications are not working?

If you have successfully completed all the fields and your notifications are still not working, have a look at your Store Details. Notifications are only going to be sent to your clients if you have defined your Store Country, under Shop Settings > Store Details.

Manage your shop analytics

If you wish to track customer purchase activity to a third-party analytics platform, you can add a tracking code snippet here. It will be rendered at the third step of the checkout flow when an order is confirmed and can help you track your sales. You can find the Analytics under Settings on the left side menu of E-commerce.

Set up the product page options

In Product Page Options, you can enable visitors to perform interactions on the product page and checkout, as well as set up your default delivery times.

Screenshot_2021-01-07_at_10.59.59.png

You can show or hide the price of the product on the product page, enable the product zoom option, and allow the product quantity selector. Moreover, you can make it possible for customers to request more information about a product by enabling the request information button. You can also enable the add to cart button, as well as show or hide the availability status of the product on the product page. Finally, you can set up your default delivery times, which you can add to your products while creating or editing them.

You can view a few examples of how to use the product page options here.
